Baruth\/Mark, March 13, 2024 - The CLASSEN Group and the naturwind group of companies recently announced their cooperation in the planning of a new wind farm in the forest north of M\u00fcckendorf. The project aims to generate clean energy for regional industry and residents, thereby making an important contribution to the energy transition in Brandenburg.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The wind farm, which is to be built in cooperation between the Classen Group and naturwind, is a significant step towards an environmentally friendly energy supply. With up to 32 wind turbines, naturwind plans to use the electricity generated regionally to supply industry and residents in Baruth\/Mark. The electricity generated will remain 100 percent in the region in order to boost the local economy and reduce dependence on fossil fuels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As an important industrial partner in the wind farm project, the Classen Group will primarily use the electricity generated to supply energy to its laminate and fiberboard plant in Baruth\/Mark. The aim is to cover 65 to 75 percent of the electricity requirements from renewable sources. In addition, CLASSEN is planning to expand its photovoltaic systems in order to further increase renewable energy production. The CLASSEN Group already completely dispenses with fossil fuels at the Baruth\/Mark production site with the help of its own energy systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project also benefits from the waste heat from the Classen Group's production, which is to be used in future to supply the neighboring villages of Baruth and M\u00fcckendorf with green heat. By installing a large heat pump, which is to be operated with electricity from the wind farm, the waste heat will be raised to the required temperature level and distributed via a local heating network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The next steps include nature conservation studies, the parallel planning of the heating network and the negotiation of an urban development contract in order to implement all aspects of the project in a timely manner. The CLASSEN Group and naturwind are determined to work together with local authorities and interest groups to create a sustainable energy supply for the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The construction of the wind farm and the realization of further infrastructure measures will be carried out in close coordination with the local authorities and interest groups. The partners are confident that the project represents a significant step towards a sustainable and environmentally friendly energy supply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
